    Why are foglights so expensive?

Why exactly are cb7 foglights so expensive?

    #2
Because they are rare and getting harder to find.

        Supply and Demand. That simple.

Because I'm stockpiling them to control the market. I've got seven sets and even more harnesses.

I did all that. I sold my last set of 90-91s last week. I'm stockpiling other parts now. The deals are out there just u have to find them or pay the premium of the ones on the site.

Any optional accessory is expensive, regardless of make/model. Have you seen some Toyota fogs? HOLY SH*T they are expensive.

CB fogs in particular are in short supply, high demand, and they tend to get broken and damaged... guess it has something to do with them being at the front of the vehicle and down low.

Now throw the "JDM" crap into the mix and you have yourself a headache.

I was mostly kidding about controlling the market. One pair came on my car, another is a JDM set I bought from a member on here and the rest are junkyard rescues. I'm cleaning and polishing every set to eventually sell, I've just been lazy. Now something I'm intentionally collecting for the heck of it is OEM alarms. I have 4 complete Honda alarms now. I'm going to lose a lot of money later on when I come to the realization that no one wants this stuff.

I am sitting on 2 sets now myself and they are nice to look at and they have good function as well. I had a 3rd but I have to find them. Not to mention rear fogs as well

Good function? We must not own the same types of foglights. The output on OEM foglights is pretty much squat.

Michael, they're not for sale. One day, when the forum is full of true enthusiasts and not just people who own an Accord because it is a cheap vessel by which they can express their "stance" and hold up their useless roof rack, I'll sell them.

I agree, output on OE fogs is sub-par at best. They're nice to have for other drivers to see YOU a little better, but thats about it.

Best chance to find some below internet retail would be junk/salvage yards. Or go aftermarket... some have really good output.

Well in comparison to others you have a good point. I just know it made a diff than just regular headlights alone. I guess if they had a projector in them....

I will echo the complaints about fog lamp output. As I've said many times before, my $20 set of Auto Zone fog lamps were much better than the OEM pieces.

That being said, people will price the fogs at what the market will bear. I bought a set at a junkyard for $25 and had them sold on the site for $165 an hour after I got home, sans harness, not even cleaned.

What are flushmounts going for these days? I remember when they were selling for well over $400.
