    reducing glare from projectors....

ok. ive looked around and really couldnt find the answer to what i was looking for. i just finished my retrofit the other day. i put it up against a wall and got this:

yeah. it needs some work. lol. one thing i was wondering is installing shrouds or painting the back of the housing for low beams help reduce the glare. any ideas, suggestions or tips?

      What projectors do you have??

it looks like they need some rotational alignment too...

I don't know that u can do anything; those don't look like any beam pattern I've ever seen from a quality projector

their from some ebay headlights. i took the projector out of them. lol. and yeah. ill be rotating them too.

ive seen the cut off on these before in the ebay headlight housing and it was actually pretty good. but these are in OEM housings so i was expecting it to be different.

Blackhousing might help. But those look like if you blackhouse you'll have a clean cut-off with very little light.

It looks like the projectors themselves are poor quality-ish. Also the cut off plate on the passenger side is backward or your have two driver side projectors.

Projector cutoffs are the same for either side

But I agree that the output on them isn't great. It was prob a good experience to practice for the real deal

I don't think there's really a problem with glare. At least not that will affect oncoming drivers. The right side flaring up is ok, because no one will be to that side of you far enough to catch that. Like the others said though, the output isn't too great. It wouldn't cost you much to get something like some rx330 projectors (can be had from ebay for 50.00 with some searching). Since you had some practice with the ebay projectors. The rotation on them isn't perfect, but you got your first one out of the way.

Blackhouse your headlight housing and adjust your projectors properly.

tomorrow ill realign them and black out the section for the projector and see if that helps. AND it'll be like 70 tomorrow too. yeah. ill get some work tomorrow and see if that helps. i have some shrouds coming in tho.

as far as the projector quality. idk. if others can get decent output from the ebay headlights then im sure i can get decent light from these once the shrouds are in. look at the other members up here with them. they have no issues. im sure them being from the ebay headlights has no bearing on it.
