    Headlight Opinions

I've been in the market for new bulbs. I used to have Eurolite Xenon Crystal Bulbs, loved them to death, but they burned out on me after about a year and a half.

As you can see the bulbs were pure white, no yellow at ALL, but at the same, no ricer blue. They were just super bright white, with maybe a hint of purple.

However, their output wasn't much better than stock as far as visibility. I mean they had the nicer non-yellow beam pattern, and seemed a bit better than stock, but it wasn't that amazing night and day.

I was just wondering if PIAA Xtreme white will get me the same color, while improving my outptut vision.

There's also the matter of cost. Its 18 shipped for my old bulbs and 60 shipped for PIAA's.

I don't want to get silverstars. I put a set in my friend's dad's Audi, and they looked OEM to me.

PIAA is the only bulb I will ver run, they are more expensive, but they always come with a 2 year warranty and are birghter than any other bulb I have ever used! PIAA all the way bro!
If you can't hear it before you can see it...It's not worth it.

PIAA is highly over-rated and over priced. same with sylvania. I'd just save my money and have crappy lighting with oem bulbs. Or i'd put money into something worth it and get a oem hid setup.
70 dollar for halagon bulbs is crazy, especially when they blow often for most people

i just got silverstars... I did the 9005 conversion at the same time.

obvioulsy i got more light because of the conversion

the color was VERY nice, and i could even see better in the rain with the silverstars then I could with OEM bulbs.. I'd say go with the silverstars..

Indeed, they completely wash out, and they blow really quickly. I recommend Lazer Blue's 9005s; they're excellent...nice white beam, bluish tint, $30 a pair. Why not? I think my next pair will be some higher wattage bulbs...

Holy back from the dead post batman.

I ended up ordering another set of what I had. No need to risk 50+ on lights I'm unsure of. I want to install my new fog bulbs, and then I think i'll go from there. I might eventually go HID. Plus I do plan on at least consdering one pieces, so they don't take 9006 anyways.

Let us know how you like the luminics bulbs...

I've read some not so great stuff about them and I'm curious if it's just BS...i was going to get those yellow H1's but I pu tthe money down for the PIAA Ion Crystal yellow bulbs instead... but these might be a more cost efficient replacement if and when the PIAA's go...

                      Oh yeah...

and I'm very happy with my PIAA Super Plasma GTX's in the lowbeams... semi purplish whitish hue by the reflectors but fairly whitish light on the ground...and pretty damn close to stock output or close to it IMO... no trouble seeing in wet conditions...unlike every other normal wattage bulbs I've ever had besides stock or stock replacements...

PIAA is definitely not overhyped IMO... not worth 70-80+ but you can find deals out there...

Hmm, I'll definitely keep that in mind.

Mind you the selection is a lot more limited for the 9006 series too.

I'm going to put Hella Yellowstar bulbs in my fogs and see what those are like.

I just picked up a set from this site and they are amazing. Bad weather visibiltiy drastically improves with these bulbs. I would definately recommend them to anyone.

I actually tried to track down some Yellowstars in H1 for my highs... since I've heard they are by far the best yellow bulbs available... but I didn't try all that hard and couldn't find any...

update on the yellowstars when you get em in...

Will do. I just need to borrow an extension to get my bumper off.

I actually have 2 sets of H3's, both 85 watt and 55 watt, I'm interested in running the 85 watt, but fear meltage of the housing.

www.rallylights.com is where I got the yellowstars. 17 shipped for a set.
