    9006/9005 ----> H4/h1

    does anyone know where to get a wiring harness to convert 9006/9005 bulbs to H4/H1 bulbs?

    also, is there such a harness to plug in the 9006/5 factory harness into a female end of a H4/1 harness to prevent me from cutting and splicing?

    ..no harness exitsts for that application. all you gotta do is buy the H4 and H1 plugs, and just rewire, reloom them onto the factory harness. believe me, wasn't hard at all

      Another option would be to take the base from a 9006 bulb and make a plug-in adapter. Plug your factory harness into it and then plug it into the H4 bulb. If I end up getting a HID kit that's how I plan to hook it up.

        Never thought of doing it that way.... good idea!!!

        I'm thinking alot of people with JDM lights want to know how to wire the H4's to work for both Hi/Lo beam like civics do. The H1's are cool for Hi beams, but they are too bright and I want to drive around with half the output for the Hi's and then have the H4's do the work for Lo beam and Hi beam.

        I already have my jdm lamps wired up to work normally H4=low H1=high but I want the H4's to do both jobs.

        Someone needs to write a Step by step how-to. I know it's possible to do.

          could you go into greater detail if possible, im a little confused

          how would i make a plug in adapter?

          thanks for the responses so far, im getting closer to the install

          also, whats the bulb type in the corners of jdm headlamps? any plug in for that?

            Take a 9006 bulb, snip off the actual bulb and bingo, you've got a something that will plug into the factory harness. Then you just need to run some wires from that base (where the bulb used to be) to the H4.

                this is possible but you know that it isn't good for the H4 bulb to run on both filaments at the same time (it will wear out prematurely due to heat). you will need to use a relay to turn off the low-beam filament when the high-beam filament is triggered. i was thinking about doing this too.

                i always asked "why do JDM lights have H4 and the high-beam filament is never used?". there is even a wire for that filament, but when i remove an H4 bulb from a JDM headlight, the high-beam filament is unused and super new compared to the low-beam filament which is almost burnt out. this question has yet to be fully answered. anyone know the true facts ?
