If I remember correctly, it's not really worth it.
I know for Civics the HIDs are just a little bit better than halogens when it comes to fogs.
It's not quite as big of a difference as halogen vs HID in headlights.

        Ohhhhhh, okay.

If you don't mind the price, I'd go with:
        http://shop.3bspecialties.com/category.sc?categoryId=18
        $140 shipped.

But, if you're on a budget... nothing wrong with going with "off brand" HID's on eBay.

There was a guy who came to the last ontario meet (cant remember his sn)...but he had HIDs in the fogs.....and they looked bright when your looking at them from outside the car......I have no idea if they made a change in the actual usuable light output though.

Ive seen many cars use HIDs and they looking fucking bright (read blinding).....but they have no usuable light so they are useless...this is only when going the plug and play route though......retros are fucking tits

but if all your going for is the look.....then hids in the fogs will give you the look you want

I would never feel comfortable putting an offbrand HID in my car.....Those ballasts get hot.....and when you first turn on your lights with HIDs there is a huge amount of amps needed to get the ballasts going (only upon initial start up though...the rest of the time its low)......much more than stock.....if the ballasts arent made right it could fuck some shit up

I remember from the Spring 2006 East Coast Meet (goin way back), someone came and had a HID p-n-p kit in some oem 90-91 fogs and as King James said they were bright as sh*t when you looked into them but I dont know how much of a difference they would make on the road.......(searching for pic of that car)

EDIT** found it..name the owner if you can.

ok that solves the amperage problem.....but it doesnt solve the fact if something is cheaply made theres a greater chance of it fucking up

and let it be known im not saying it will for certain fuck up.....but there are some things i dont like to take the chance on....and electical fires in my engine bay is one of them lol

and honestly....how many ppl are actually running that harness.....i made my own when i did my retro....but most ppl dont know the big difference between hids and stock halogens

I've never had problems out of "off brand" HID kits, and know of no one personally who have had complaints about them.
Sure, on forums... there are a few that have had catastrophic damage, but that's a few out of millions (hyperbole).
Everyone with HID kits in general are taking a risk in having them if their car came equipped with halogen lights from the factory.
If I had the money, I would have bought a good name brand HID kit, but I didn't want to spend that much on them since I'm planning a retrofit sometime this year.

im not faulting you for paying the least amount you can.....in other unimportant (to me) areas of my builds im willing to cheap out.

Ive just done alot of research on retros and hids in general and i know not many ppl know the differences between the two....just puttin the information out there
