How do you black out the headlights?

I was just wondering how to get my stock head lights blacked out, and not lose any brightness? Or should I just get the HID kit for my stock headlights? My accord wagon is charcoal grey(stock paint), and I was just wondering what would look best. I also need ideas for the tail lights. I know, I know....I have a station wagon....but I gotta make it look at least somewhat presentable. I appreciate, and thank you guys taking the time to read this. Any and all help would be awesome.
