courtesy light switches...questions

So i just replaced a bad switch on the drivers passengers door and the side courtesy light works fine now...but now when i open the doors the dome light doesnt come on...i do have it set to where itll go on when u open doors...so my question is...could it be the bulb or the fuse? how much would a brand new fuse cost?

The dome light switch needs to be in the middle for the light to come on with the doors open. If the light does not come on then the bulb is out. If the fuse blew on you then the cluster and other lights in the car would not work because they are all on the same "small light" circuit.

Fuses are cheap. As are bulbs.

Did you buy the switch new or was it used?
