    E-spec oem...the next big thing!

this "JDM" trend has gotten way out of proportion. i've been into j-spec oem parts since i've started this hobby back in '95 (the hobby is more of an obsession now). i buy these parts since they fit and work so well, just as it is from the factory. the rarity concept is the main benefit, but not recently due to the advancement of the importing business. now it's getting harder and harder to become unique. from now on i'm going to go all e-spec oem. you all can call it "EDM" if you will. it will be the next big thing! i called it!

(i apologize if this is posted in the wrong section. mods, do what you have to do.)

prices are higher, keeping a lot of the riff raff out, lol. but seriously, it may be the way to go at least with the headlights, as they maintain the proper flare.

and if you're right, then usc is light years ahead of the game!

If could find a way to get the headlight washers and rear fog light to work...that would be the coolest thing ever...

Haha! Way to flip the script Tim!

I think it might make more sense for later generation Accords since they actually have the Euro R. But if you can find Euro-spec stuff for the CB7, then go for it!

Try searching ebay.co.uk for Accord parts. You wont find alot of 4th gen stuff.

I do want some sidemoldings though.

yeah sidemoldings are oh so fresh. and just like accord warrior stated, headlight washers and rear foglights too. some jdm cars also have rear fogs, but rarely (check out the antera jdm accord in the "JDM 4th Gen Pics" thread). usually the rear fogs are integrated into the left center tail light (or is the right? correct me if i'm wrong) and the switch is mounted on the center console. also check out the different trunk lids, shown below. there is also differences in the interior from the heated and powered seats to a no-cupholder center console. the headlights also have an optional automatic leveling system (check out usc's pair, it has the motors on the back of the headlight usc's homepage ).
even the rear seats get separate headrests (but j-spec cars have this too) just to name a few.

what make it even harder for me to get these parts is that i have a coupe . i can't even get window visors. but i love it though when i do get parts, then i know it's more unique than having a 4-door (no offense, i wanted a 4-door originally hehe).

spoiler is different, some of the 4th gens in Europe had the little windshield washer headlight things (I remember seeing it on the famous accord with the Bomex front bumper and Porsche wheels)

I looked at going EDM b4.....but I like to stand out a little more. The headlights are better for use in the US because they point the right way....but they look like standard headlights with clear corners. It'll take someone highly knowledgable to know any differences for our cars escpecially (if we were to put it in a car show) judges might miss these good points...because in the honda family...civics and integras nsx's are the more common.

JDM is the thing in the import scene....but I think it's great to have a old accord that actually has different options from country to country...but European hondas are now sharing the same bodies as the j-spec and us spec cars these days...and different options are minimal.

Thats why i'm going half JDM/EDM I love the more aggressive looks of JDM stuff along with the rare things that European cars have.

The only thing im putting in my car is a EDM cluster.....but as far as headlight washers......i'm coo!!! On cb7's those things are abnormally large and stick out in front of the bumper. I'm not trying to make my car look like a volvo and put something that i'd probably never use.....hell I rarely and hate using my winshield sprayers! whenever a bird or dust hits my windshield, all they do is smear it or make it worse! But here's an evil idea......

if you get these washers......mod them by turning them the other way so they'll spray in front of your car rather than your headlights. This will be great if someone cuts you off! You can fill up the cleaner tank with like paint thinner and screw them! They'll never suspect it till they get home!! CB7 Batmobile Acid Guns!!

I got in contact with a guy in Finland......he was parting out a cb7 but he didn't want to ship out the other misc. stuff. To make it cheaper, I wanted him to send the mechanical parts of the electric seats so I could just re-wrap leather over it...but he didn't want to go through the trouble of taking it apart + he said shipping is very high. He wasn't kidding either! The foglights and cluster costed me almost 80dollars for shiping and it took 3weeks and that was European priority!!

A side note: (The european foglights in the rear)....where did you guys see this? I never seen one for a cb7 accord. Are you guys talking about the picture of the black accord with the japanese guys?

I'm not sure if that's a real option for a cb7 but I do know those rear red foglights were available on old European 88-91 civic hatches. Those guys looked like they also modded side-rear bumper reflectors like I did and the rear fogs might be just a custom mod done in the same way....... correct me if I'm wrong.
