I hate to bump this..but I wonder if you guys realize how easy this front end swap was.
I mean yeah there's grafting involved fender wise but the core support never changed.
For comparison:
Here's a CB chassis with the stock front end (my car)
And the CB with the CF4 front end conversion:
Now if you study it closely you can definitely see the similarities in both core supports. The conversion allows you to retain the front end of the car. Also take note of the location of the fender bolts.
I also see the cavities for the headlamps:
Using Cb7tillidies' photo (Tracie)
Now I went on eBay to search for the front clip and voila, I found this:
It's a CF4 front end cut from part of the bay forward. The radiator stays are definitely different, but the head lamp sections look similar in comparison to one another.
Basically what I'm saying is that ANYONE can do this front end conversion, it just takes a trained eye to spot the minor differences, the only hard part (I would think anyway) would be grafting the front fenders together and not to mention the hood but it looks like they are similar in width.Henry R

the core supports are more different then you think, I have one for a CF4, if you were to put the headlights into a cb core support, you would need to cut the metal down to where its level with the section between the support and wheel well, the one on the dark accord is a modified stock cb support because the one I have is one piece all the way across on the top and the headlight openings are bigger, other then that you just need to cut off the mounting square tube for the bumper support and weld it to the cb core support, I will have pics of the CF4 core support to show you what I am talking about, but the headlights do mount up in the same spot or close enought to it on the top so that makes it easier
photos
this is what hits under the headlight with the HID ballast removed
theres the ballast and what fits through without cutting
top of core support
see the 2 square tubed thats what you need to cut off and weld to cb core support

Oooh I had no idea that you had the front end. So you DO need to weld that square tubing in.
Damn I thought it was allot easier.
So essentially it just pushes the front end core support a little more forward right?
What about the fitment of the hood?Henry R

dunno yet about the hood because I'm still waiting to receive the hood and front bumper from the guy I bought the front end from, the core support is pretty much the same width but the fenders are 3-4 inches shorter so I imagine their will be hood modifying involved as well but can't say for sure yet, but the way it looks this front end would be the perfect accord sleeper turbo front lol

This maybe a bit much to ask of you but would you able to document the process on how to fit the front end on it?
I've been eyeing this as well but I had no idea you were considering this.Henry R

I've been wondering about that tiptronic tranny for a while. I think I want it for my auto cb7 but am wondering if I would need a cluster that displayed what gear I was in. Hmmm, guess I'll just try it and see if it works lol2013 Ice Cream Cruise!
