    Prelude seats in CB7

First off....I have searched searched and found a few threads on this subject, but still not enough detail to solve my problem

I have a 90 lx coupe...and have Prelude seats that I need to install....only 2 holes line up and the other posts I have seen suggest using one Accord rail and shazaam...it will work....well it aint quite that simple.

Secondly...how do you get the rails off the Accord seat.....and what part.....the rails are attached with two bolts on the bottom half and maybe 2 or more on the top half (cant see all of them)....not to mention the cable work under the seat that allows you to slide seat forward and backwards.

I am also trying to retain my autobelt (I kinda like that shit )

So can anybody help me out here....again....I have searched and still need help!

Nitrous is like a hot chick with a STD..... you know you wanna hit it, but you are afraid of the consequences.....

...Zex wet kit, 65 shot, dual purge, JDM H22...pure sex! .....I owned 8 CB7's in one year...top that JARHEAD...lol

Like I said in the PM, you use both Accord rails.

You completely take apart both seats. You detach the bottom and top from each other. You have to drill a hole in the Accord rail to match where the Prelude seat bottom cushion bolts into. That will cover the bases for the bottom cushion.

For the top, you have to just enlarge the whole at the top of the rail for the top bolt. You end up taking a closed hole and opening it up so it's almost U shaped (with an open end) and you just use a washer and crank it down to prevent the backrest from moving.

You to use one longer bolt for the part of the mount that sits closest to the console on both sides. If i remember I used 3 0.75" thick washers to space out the rails enough to bolt down.

Since you're using Accord rails you don't have to touch auto belt. Be aware using Prelude seats on Accord rails makes the seats sit rather reclined. It's the only way to get it to work with the autobelt though.

Thanks man....so when you say they sit reclined....how bad...and do you still have the option to slide the seats forward and backwards on the rails and do the backs still recline?

Do you have any pics of this and the install?

It's not too too bad, but it's enough on 3 hour trips that it gets a little less than comfortable.

They still function the same as normal 90-91 seats do, although I'm not sure about the coupe features. Mine moved front and back and reclined like the stock ones.

        I don't have any pics.

I took off all hardware off my original 1990 cb seats and used the rails and all that for 2001 prelude seats.

Sure it worked after dremel work but damnit only 3 out of the 4 bolts fit for some reason. Such a waste of time on that were trying to force it but not working.

Also the car sits leaned back like a bitch! I cant get it up in a normal sitting position so im just dealing with it

          o well for me

bringing this one back. I have the 01 lude seats in my sedan and there pretty cool... I had a local upholstery shop rebuild the drivers side outer bottom bolster but it's coming apart now. We have a Lude in the yard right now and I was wondering if I can use the passenger side cushion on the drivers side has it ever been tried ?

Have a look at the cushions. Some cars that have leather seats will have a cloth insert on the inside of the cushion that faces the centre console. If you swap that over to the driver side, the cloth side will be showing and look wrong. If the cushion is leather all the way around, it might work, unless there is some sort of crevice or something for the seatbelt buckle. Sometimes the bolsters are different sizes or shapes depending on the side of the car the seat is on.

Closely examine both seats side by side and see if there are any differences.
