Does the digital Odometer really work or is it non functional since its out of a newer car.

cool. looks good on it, so it will be better to get a coupe one instead like that the door lights wont come on huh?... and there isn't that much to modify right? besides cutting the bottom where the cluster sits.. can you make a list of what i would need or have to do Thanks i will really appreciate it

nah it really just the same, the only time when the 4d light goes up is when u put ur ignition to 2. there a few thing u have to modified.

                1) get the pig tail
                2) remove the cover on the back
                3) cut the bottom part of the thing hwere it support the cluster.
                4) on the 99 cluster, u have to cut off the thing that stick out.
                5) the cluster wouldnt be holding on any bolt.
                6) just mount them in, it just go in when u put the bezel on.

Great job on that. I just did the prelude cluster swap, but it's nice to see other people trying new things.

This did open my eyes, however, to the possibility of swapping an s2k digital speedo into a cb. I think it'd be a fun project for me to try and tackle one of these months...they figured out how to translate the vss signal for older cars so that the s2k cluster works, along with a temp control module. It'd look sick, but right now the cost is what's holding me back (about 450-500 dollars parts, doing all the labor yourself).

                    Perhaps soon...

haha 400-500 dollar for cluster swap? kinda too much. am guessing the vss will still work the same way, cuz year 98+ cluster still work on our car, so i guess it will work, but s2k cluster is digital right?

I'm guessing that it didn't just plug in and you had to wire in the harness for the newer cluster?

Yep, but the signal somehow doesn't work because the s2k works off a special pulse or something...so most all non-modern cars need a special converter to get it to read correctly.

And to the last poster...yes, you do need to make a harness for any kind of cluster swap. That's where your time and labor is going to be spent.

                              yep

and I wouldn't be too worirred about dropping 500 on a swap like that, because I know if I sold it later on, I'd get at least that much back for it

the 99 doesnt have a gas light! thats why you couldnt get it to work

anyways, im doing this swap tomorrow i got mine, it looks great i cant wait i like it alot.
