    isn't heavier better.......

isnt heavier better for a shift knob?

I've bought a couple other shiftknobs in the past, advertised as lightweight.
I've always went back to the stock one though, as it's TONS easier to get into gear with a bit of weight at the top.
You really gotta work to get the light ones into gear.

    Anyone else agree?

weighted shift knobs are better if you ask me personally because i have sticky shifts and i need all the momentom (sp? ) i can get but if you have an easy shifting tranny then i suppose it would be more beneficial to use a lighter on but i dont know lol

higher end cars use HEAVY knobs

heavy feels better (unless it's a woman on top) so maybe that's why, but it makes sense that a heavier knob means more momentum and less chance of an indirect path from gear to gear, less chance of a miss......

        yup, thats what I figured.

        only makes sense.

so why are all the aftermarket ones light and shitty?
anyone know of a good heavy aftermarket one to use?

skunk2 makes a weighted shift knob. I almost bought it but like the greddy instead. When i held it, it was very heavy compared to the other shift knobs I had. Check it out if you can

Yep heavier eases the weight of shifting. GReddy and HKS make some. There are also couple companies that make them that i cant think of at this moment.
