Door panel cloth keeps falling off!

So after owning my 90EX for a couple years, some of the cloth on the door panels started to come loose. I used some 3M spray adhesive, and fixed the rear door panels and the front passenger door panel, but that didn't hold for long. Recently, the driver door panel cloth came loose. So on all four doors, I peeled back as much cloth as I could (it came off soooo easy), and used 3M adhesive remover. I sprayed it and wiped it down like 3 or 4 times on every door panel. I got as much off the adhesive off as I could, but there was still some old dried up adhesive on there. Then I used some spray on headliner adhesive, cuz I figured maybe it was the interior heat when it's parked in the sun that caused the light duty 3M stuff to let go the first time I fixed it. Ok, so now, the areas that were fixed once already seem to be holding fine, but the areas that were just fixed recently are peeling off already, it's like the adhesive isn't dried, it just turned into gooey junk. It was super sticky at first, and held for like a week.

So, anyone have suggestions on a better adhesive, or better way to get this cloth to bond permanently? I don't want my interior looking like poo, when the rest of the car looks pretty good....

Side note: I have the burgandy interior, and was thinking of putting black sport seats (sparco milanos or look alikes) in it. What do you think of maybe taking off all the stock door panel cloth and replacing it with black cloth to match the new seats?

I used the 3M spray adhesive on mine and it worked fine, maybe since its cold right now it doesn't bond as well? I dunno when you tried this so I am not sure (or if you live in florida). Also if you let the spray adhesive tack up or dry before pushing it together that will help it stick. Sorry i dont have any other suggestions or help.

isnt there some kind of glue you can use besided the m3 stuff like that you brush on. i Know a kid that tweeded his whole iterior and used some kind of glue i have to ask him about it

i used fabric glue, it squeezes out of a little bottle. and if its that its cold thats not making the adhesive stick, just take off the panels and put the adhesive on inside your house or some other warm place.

Contact cement did the trick for me and it resists the heat of being in a car unlike the 3M spray stuff that falls off.

Hmm... this headliner spray stuff seems to be ok on the areas that had previously had 3M stuff, which fell apart, but was cleaned off. I think all it did was give a good prep to the surface. But on the driver side where the fabric just recently fell off, it didn't do the trick. I guess I'll have to clean it and re-spray. I don't think I need to let it sit too long before attaching it, since I'm in SoCal, and although it's cool here now, it's definitely warm enough to let glue dry. The thing that was so weird is how it stuck perfectly when I first did it, but after a while, it didn't harden, it just turned to a gummy, oily goo and the fabric came loose again. Do you think maybe it's the solvent in the adhesive that perhaps reacted with the synthetic cloth? I wonder....
