if you can keep the wiring reel when you install another wheel, then yes you can keep your cruise. unfortunately you need to get rid of the wiring reel when installing aftermarket wheels. that means no more horn AND cruise.
you can rig up a few momentary switches to function like a cruise control. i've seen a 240sx guy do it. i'll see if i can find the link for you.
aero how did you keep the canceller? what mods did you do, if any?
edit: i found the link. here you go: http://importnut.net/steeringswap.htm

I purchased a JDM Leather Wrap Steering Wheel, from Japan on eBay awhile ago.
It came from a Prelude 2.0si, and has four horn buttons, and the CC works awesome
along with all 4 horns.
No modifying whatsoever .. *plug and play* as they say ..
It's a little difficult to find, and I havn't seen one, since I bought mine. But good luck ..
A Hui Hou !!!

dang, that wheel looks just like mine.
As to what I did... that wiring reel, is that the little biscuit thing that the stuff attaches to?
Unfortunately, I dont have any pics of it taken apart. The blinker canceller thing I put back in there just like stock. Then I took that wiring reel thing, and hooked up the horn button to one of them. I dremeled the front part of that thing so that the wheel would sit flush. Im forgetting how I did it, lemme see if i can find pics or something.
edit: no pics. but the supplied wire with the hub you connect to the horn button. When you depress the button, it closes the circuit to the wheel itself which is connected to the steering column, which grounds it, and voila.
To keep the cruise, you would do the same thing I did, except cut the aftermarket hub to keep the stock wiring to connect it to. Then just plug and play.
If someone has one of the aftermarket hubs, and the steering wheel reel thingy, I would be willing to work on it, and get it to work for ya. Only thing you would have to do is get the cruise to attach to the wheel.Last edited by aero; 08-03-2005, 08:19 PM.

i recently removed my MOMO hub and wheel to finish wiring my horn button (relocated to dash) and i forgot to add my spacer back, but i still have the turn signal canceller... so since brandon was able to keep his and i was able to keep mine i think that 90-91s can keep it even with an aftermarket hub/wheel combo.
someone else with a 90-91 and aftermarket wheel/hub combo must chime in..

yeah, you could just use two buttons. Would look pretty good IMO compared to the stock setup. But, if they were mounted on the steering wheel, you would still have to get them to the plug in the steering column. Thats where the custom work comes into play of getting those to work as well as the horn. Like i said, if anyone has a hub, and wants to keep the cruise/horn, send me the steering wheel part(black disc thing)(you will just have no horn/cruise on your current wheel), and the aftermarket hub, and I'll get'r done so you just have to bolt it up and add the switches of your choice. This service would be free of course, unless you live in canada or alaska or something, then I would ask for the return shipping to be paid.
btw.. clarkster thanks for the comment! I dont even think it was actually "clean" in the pic.Last edited by aero; 08-04-2005, 09:55 PM.
