Oooh, very nice DIY. I'll have to do this later on today! I may not have a drill press, but I do have a dremel...

did mine over the weekend. i have to say, for five bucks at home depot and about an hours worth of work, the result is kick ass. it shortened my throw by at least an inch or so. thanks Busted for the fyi.

The Integra shift rod has NOTHING in common with your Accord one. Your only choices are to chop some off your stock lever and rethread, or buy a true short shifter.

but are there any true short shifters made for our cars, the most i've ever seen are short shifter adapters that move the cables around like i already have. Its not somethin i need, my shifting is fine but it'd be nice to only have to move an inch or so to get into gear. I still think shifting is all in the mind and how fast u engage and release the clutch pedal, but i might experiment with the prelude shifter since is fits supposively

The guy with the post right above yours makes one It's damn nice, too.

Cutting it down and rethreading would be a bitch, too. The top of the rod is tapered to allow the narrow thread, you'd probably destroy two or three dies trying to do it.

A one inch shift is impossible no matter what you buy. Maybe someone around here has one of mine and they can comment.

i was exaggerating about the one inch thing...u know what i meant lol . I think its all in the head but it'd be nice to have a really really short throw

Which is exactly why I make mine adjustable. You pick how short you want your throw.
