I would say go for those. They have alot of good points and it is discreet. I would buy them but no need
    Maple50175 - you're annoying =P
Brandoncb7 - I don't mean to come across like an ass but I see why you irritate Aaron now.
JoshM - Crotch rocket = chick magnet.

I've never seen those before so I can't say anything about the quality. But they are alot more discreet, and different looking so most people would not recognize them as hood latches right away, may be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. The only two things down sides to them I see is that if they stop working you're SOL, and (especially if you have a new CF hood) it would require a lot more drilling than I'd be comfortable with.

I'd rather have the second pair. They're simpler so there is less stuff that could potentially fail, and they lock so they're more secure.

I got a pair of the second ones when I ordered my carbon fiber hood a year ago. I still haven't installed them

There's 2 versions...if you want to pay more, you can get locking versions. I dumped a little more $$$ to get the locking versions. I went ahead with the locking ones also because I didn't want a curious person to play around and push the button to prop the hoodpin door.

These are what the locking versions look like.

                  Aww what the hell...

So I had a day off today and decided to try and tackle installing my hood pins.

I spent 4 hrs being anal about measurements and only got one side 80% done before it got dark. The pin is in on the passenger side, but I didn't screw down the latch yet. Finalized pictures will be up 2maro when I get the other side done.

You know, I actually saw the set you have and thought "I'd rather haver have those" but didn't post about them and then forgot about them too lol. How big of a hole did you have to cut for those to fit?

All I gotta say is those pins were a bitch to put it. It was one thing getting the ballz to cut into a 500+ part. One part that freaked me out during the install was when the dremel sanding bit "ended" and the paper part sorta flew off causing the tip of the dremel to slip and run across the hood slightly. Luckily it was in a area that was going to be cut anyways so no harm done...

I'm still 80% done because the big hole it left in the skeleton underneath. Right now I have to find time in my busy schedule to "patch" and fiberglass the skeleton to make it appear like it was untouched.

Looking good, esp with the black paint.

I think my windshield wipers are the same color as yours.

Haha thanks man! My last CB7 I fixed and painted the windshield wiper arms...but I haven't done so with the new cb7 yet. I can't stand the flaked paint. There are some parts where the paint is so stripped to chrome, it looked like the "Type-G" elves were giving it a polish in the still of the night.

can you please post some pics from backside of the hood? and where you did you place the pins, did you have to drill or you used some of the existing holes?
