    modifying a carbon fiber hood?

    ..i want a carbon fiber hood. but coz of the headlights swap, my factory hood will be modified. before i buy a carbon fiber hood, does anyone know if it can be cut/trimmed without it cracking or splintering ??

    It can be done.............but with the clearcoat/gelcoat so thick on most, its pretty easy to crack it. You shouldnt have a problem cutting the fiberglass and carbonfiber, after you get the clear cut good.

    Another thing you might wanna think about is, the edge where you cut, your going to be able see the clear, carbonfiber, and the fiberglass backing, which you may not want seen. And if you want it to look nice, you might have to wrap the new edges in carbon, and getting it lined up with the original pattern isnt gonna be easy.
