side molding removal... be careful... today's moral is...

Don't be a dumbass. I am currently sitting un my driveway, gravel is sticking up into my ass, my back is aching, and my legs are numb. I'm not taking a break or smoking a cigarette, no, I'm attempting to attach my side mouldings. See, being the dreamer that I am, I thought when I bought this car that I would shave the side mouldings and paint the car in a couple months. Lemme tell you, nothing ever turns out the way you plan.

So, in my naivete, I chose to pull off my side mouldings and send them with the rest of my old wrecked car to the junkyard. It's almost a year later. Since then I decided to keep the side mouldings, so here I sit, tingling and numb, trying to get the stupid 3M doublestick tape to actually adhere to the surface of my door.

Kids, don't be an idiot like me, make sure you know what you want before you prepare for it, and for God's sake, wait until you have your car in the shop for a modification before you go tearing it apart.

I'll be here for a while longer if anyone wants to drop me a line or share their humilating story to make me feel better.

Yeah, I'll try that. I'll also probably go to the Honduh Stealership tommorrow to get the clips that I'm missing(about five).

Yeah, but the clips hold it in place so the tape can work.

By the way, why was the thread title changed? If someone wanted to find the thread in a search, they could have found it. What's the deal?

My guess is my dealership will charge me a fortune. Basically I drive 30 miles to take it up the ass, it sucks.

thread title's changed to be specific, since the title "today's moral" sounds more like something found in off topic. makes more sense when thread titles give some insight to what the thread is about.

I'm missing about seven of them. I called Reagan(Honda) this morning and there's three different clips I need, the cheapest being $4.05 and the most expensive being over 6 dollars. So yeah, that sucks.

I put them back on because they flow better with the stock bumpers. Not to mention the ugly holes that are revealed when you take them off. And it's a lot of work to shave them.
