LOL the neffy job was hell and still is, i figure over the next six months ill get it all down good but its a nightmare and dont really suggest it to anyone that either
1-expects perfect results the first time
2-doesnt have patience for bubbles that keep popping up.

Ive fashioned a syringe with superglue that i shove into bubbles to reglue them back down and that seems to be working pretty good.

looks sick but pain in my ass!

Would it be to much to ask how do you make the cf I've seen videos on you tube but obviously you know what your doing. Where and what type of materials are you using to make the cf where do you even buy the chemicals to do it, I know you said the fabric you can get from eBay I would like to learn thanks for any info Pm me if you would like

look up cabon fiber lay-up videos on youtube. you use carbon fiber cloth and a 2-part epoxy resin.

the best way to learn how to use and make cool stuff with CF is to just get some fabric and some epoxy (spend money on good quality epoxy like west systems) and go for it. experience is what makes this hobby fun and the only way to gain experience is to just get started!

Probly should clearify a little bit more for the DIY'ers! It's EPOXY RESIN!!!
The best carbon fiber parts are made for Formula One racing. You will never be able to buy these parts nor would you want to ever buy these parts because:
                          •They are ridiculously expensive.
•The high quality is unnecessary for racing/street riding.

You need 2 main materials resin and fabric.
Good carbon fiber products should only be made with "EPOXY RESIN" and CARBON FIBER FABRIC.

We use this in the aerospace industry on composite Aircraft and it is widely used on custom-built aircraft. We use a layed procces and call it Compsite. (Personaly have built parts for Aircraft)
                          Honda Aircrafts are composites.

And there are some drawbacks of CF, Even with a pro. JOB,
_Many labor hours are necessary to get the desired smoothness.
_Strength varies from batch to batch. Difficult to detect voids, not that it matters much in your projest.
                          _Delamination problems due to moisture

OEM hoods have to pass federal crumple standards, meaning on front end collisions they need to crumple. and not enter the passanger cabin! however carbon fiber is so ridgid and stiff it doesnt crumple and will enter the cabin and act like a gian blade.

I def. give you a thumbs up for creativty, but Also feel it was a waste of time. But thats what you wanted it to look like and you went for it.

many things in the automotive hobby world are a waste of time. i did it because its never been done before. i agree its time consuming... my bay has over 300 hours of labor in it.

do you think that CF added and stiffness to the chassis and if so, do you feel a difference? later.

i have done too many drastic changes to this car everytime i tear it down to really notice. but there is a tone of carbon fiber on the strut towers (2-3 layers) so i would say that there is definitely added stiffness to the front end. i really dont take turns all that hard and never have so i cant really respond to a different feel.
