Jhoff- you asked why would i lay carbon over metal? To make it smooth and clean. Plus have you ever seen it done before? I didnt think so!

WOW ... at all this negativity... can't we just let him go and keep on topic here. He had an opinion and that is all. Well so far the progress looks good. Me and a couple of my instructors were talking about that E85 and what type of gains it would have. I think if you really want it then do it. For boost it might help out but for normal everyday driving I think that it really wouldn't matter all that much because its just too much to do to a car to really benefit from doing the swap. Oh btw ... have you changed out any of the fuel lines or your charcoal canister because i think they might be a big factor too when switching. I don't remember if you eliminated the canister or not. I would look into what fuel lines are needed for E85 because i think they are rated different too.

Good luck and see if you can get some dyno sheets post or something to see what the torque and hp graph looks like. interested on how it performs.

I am running e85 and have been since the car rebuilt. The gains are alot when it comes to boost because of the ability to run much more timing. As far as fuel lines most modern fuel lines which do include our fuel lines are plastic lined so there are no issues when running the e85. also the gasoline mixed in e85 provides a "lubricant" for the ethanol. As far as injector size this is the reason why i am currently running 1000cc injectors which i would only need 650cc injectors if i was running gasoline so there is alot more consumption of the e85.

i only used a respirator when i was sanding but this was after laying down wet carbon so i didnt really breath any carbon dust thankfully. I used two different masks most of the time i used a full mask from 3M my dad gave me. new filters for it was 50$ so it was a real good one.

Finished my H23 plenum. welded the airbooster holes closed as well as the pcv port and polished it nice!
