    pin stripe remove?

How do I remove the pin stripe with out damaging my paint? Thanks

use a hair dryer, thats what my friend did on his seattle silver cb7, worked pretty good other than you will still slightly see where the pinstripe was.

All depends on your paint. My friend had a 6G and his came right off, but ive tried pulling mine off and, aside from the strip of un-faded paint, it was a bitch and very time-consuming. In 10 minutes of trying, i only got like 2 inches off.

I dont know where your from but, I have found that if you let the car sit with one side facing the sun (south) during the hottest hour or two of the day (98-105 or so), and then make a small cut with a razor blade through the pin stripeing, since it is already heated up it peels right off. I did part of mine before I got a fresh paint job a couple years back and on my faded Bordeaux Red you could see what I guess you could call a reverse pin stripe. Where the pin stripe had been was a full shade darker then the rest of the paint.

I thought about having Maaco do something similar to that with a slightly darker pin stripe but it would have costed $150 more then what I could afford. And when they did the prep work for paint they didn't remove any pin striping so you can still see the old pin stripe through the fresh paint.. Later

Yea, Civic's post has it right!

it is easy to do, and you can find those wheels at any auto body shop.

the one I used was at y old work, but if any of you have taken are, it is made out of the same stuff as an arabic gum eraser....

g/l with the pin stripe removal!

be careful, if someone had the pinstripe put on some companies dab a small amount of super glue or clearcoat at the ends to avoid peeling.
