    Hood prop question

My hood prop is pretty screwed up and it doesnt hold the hood well while its open and I was looking into hood dampners, but I have been told that its not a good idea with a carbon fiber hood and that it has to be calibrated and it's expensive and might not be the best idea. So I was wondering a way to prop my hood open without using the factory hood prop. Anyone a broken hood prop and are using a different alternative? What can I use? Thanks

Use a piece of wood lol. I did that once haha but since your hood is cf just get one from the jyard. Really not that hard to remove. But you can try to use a civic one as mentioned. Need to find somewhere to mount it though and find a hole. ONly thing I would worry about is if its a windy day its gonna blow that thing away haha. Thats what happen to 1993Se when he had his hood propped on a windy texas day with stock prop.

just a thought, would it be possible with a lightweight cf hood to use only one dampner?
