vertical doors...should i?

well guys heres the deal.
my bud 90_accord_22657 has a set of vertical door hinges laying around for a cb.
he said hed sell them to me real cheap (around 80 bucks he said if i remember correctly)
and i want them so bad, and cuold get them but heres the deal...


when we had them on his car, the doors fit like dogshit. i mean, they opened and closed and stayed closed, but they didnt line up well at all. they kinda stuck out from the car a little bit too, like when ur door doesnt shut all the way.

plus, they were really hard to pull down. but im sure that wont be an issue because A) his cars a sedan and mines a coupe, so my doors are heavier and B) they prolly just need to be broken in some


and i mean i wouldnt worry, but if they look like shit, i can take them off, but the doors still dont line up well. at least his dont.

ive always thought about getting some but im not going to pay like $1k for em. but your gettin them for like $80. thats a REAL good deal. get them. if you dont like the look of them, wait til later so you can figure out if you still want them or not. either way. your out $80. lol

well im always saving up for stuff for my car. i want to use my tax return to buy up a bunch of stuff but ill moving out in a couple of months tho. so thats a no no for me. lol.

do you have any air problems while the car is moving? like excess noise?

not really. except this annoying ass whistle from the elec tape on my driv side mirror where the last owner fucked it up somehow. i need to go to a jy and get a new mirror but david wont take me.

I say if you got the money get it... Don't go out of your way to buy some BS and have to pay 3 to 4 times more just to get it to fit right... Your friend my have some knock off kit... or something just like one.... I was going to get them till I found out all the BS that comes with them..... I have a guy I know pay 1500 for his and had to keep send'n them back to get a custom fit cut....( Like I said BS ).... Its like that old say'n goz "You get what you pay for".....

i think they look sweet, about not fitting right, I think you have to be very carefull where you mount the hinges to make sure that the door lines up where you want it when it's closed. There was some show I was watching on my ondemand cable that showed them putting lambo doors on a civic and the guys doing it were doing all kinds on measurements to make sure that it ligned up right. I would get them for 80 bucks then pay someone to put them on if your worried about the fit.

are they universal half weld, half bolt on, or are they app specific? (do they even mike app specific lambos for our cars? )

if they were welded on to your boys car how,d he take them off? hopefully they were cut off decently, you dont want halfway cut-up brackets.
Sounds like the shocks might be too strong also, you could prolly replace those if the door is still too hard to pull down.
be careful if you weld them, a buddy of mine had universal ones on a mustang, one day he opened the door and the weld broke and sent the door forward into his fender. on a Saleen. i lol'd.

all i gotta say is, do your doors open? yes? then why? think of all the sick things you could get with that money. plus there are very few lambo door kits our there that are trouble free. just save yourself the headache i say. i would usually leave it up to you. if you like it then rock on but plan carefully, but since you asked our opinion im just giving it to you straight to keep you from discouraging yourself. in the end its your car
