That first one's engine looks like they tried to copy TypeG. All the chrome. So SHINY. There's a guy on Accord wagon club that had a rag top put in, let me see if I can find it.

There you go. Don't know if that's anything you're interested in, but it's an opition. Not sure about the integrity of the car after that, though.

that's what I was talking about as one of my options! is there any way you can get in touch with the guy and find out how much it affected the car? or if he did anything to brace it? that would be soooo easy to do and would allow me to open up the whole top, without actually chopping the top OFF.

Sure, I see if he still posts over there and try and get you some info so you can talk with him.

i have a big ragtop in my wagon(35x60) and i will say this, it will flex more with the hole in the roof. as of now i plan on workin on it to make it a little stronger, probley brace it under the car and a small rool cage, gonna try to make it small so i can still fit palels over them to hide the bars. here is some pics of it. i also have my wagon in the members rides section

                      more pics

i installed it myself. it wasnt to bad, just a ton of fiting to make sure the hole was right. ended up bein a little to narrow the first time and had to take it out and clean and redo the clue. was nice after i was done. and its leak free. the only mod i had to do was on the latchin mech it is a bolt that you spin with a billet knob with a set screw, i had to just grind a flat spot with a grinder on the bolt that the know goes onto. def a badass mod, one of my favorit mods i did to my car. let the sun shine in

oh and TheNextAzn, that accord is not a vert, its just a vynel not that goes over the metal roof.

oh and if you look at say ho much a reg v8 mustang conpars to a vert v8 mustang you will see that verts are heavyer then a car with a reg top. its case they need a super strong unibody pan to make up for the lack of roof. just look at it this way, if you had 2 cardboard boxes, one with a top to it and one without. just think of if you twisted the boxes, if you can see all this in your head you will know the box without the top will twist up way easyer then the one with the top. but if you put extra layers on the box without the top, sooner or later you will make it as strong as the box with the top, but will be heavier. i hope that helped, probley just confused you even more. i suck at getting my thoughts on a computer

i would personally like to see an accord truck roadster--a wagon with the top chopped and a structural wall welded in behind the driver's seat making a bed! that is a future project for me!
