So you left the back reflective part(s) unpainted and basically painted any/all parts that dont reflect direct light....? See, i want the whole thing to be black, but that paints not reflective so..that sux..is there a usuable paint that IS reflective? I'm highly interested in doing this but even if i do it on another set of lights and mess it up, im out that much money...i guess i wont get it right the first time, but its worth a try

Ya, everything but the rear reflectors and the mushrooms gets a couple good coats of bbq flat black paint. There is no paint available that will dry with a finish good enough to reflect light, so don't even try....you'll just ruin the lights.

i want the look but i dunno about yellow high beams...does the light being yellow affect how bright the actual light is? i love my hyperwhites...

I've just finished taking apart my headlights to paint. They look completely different to the ones on the previous page. Can anyone give any pointers on where to actually paint black on these?

Should I do the whole front bit that's currently still attached to the inside of the clear front? Plus the flat bits on the seperate back bits where the actual bulbs attach?

if i'm not mistaking, you should paint the crome part that you have left inside the lens in the ^^ above pic. You need the high/low beam reflectors so you cant paint those.

yes, i agree. just inside of the clear lens, then when you put it back itll look much cleaner than most usdm jobs beacuse you really dont need to tape

and you can paint the lens reflectors in the back, but of course not black.

just yellow..or any light color that your heart desires

I would suggest against this, unless it's with translucent paint of the yellow variety....and only on the high-beam. DO NOT use any other types of paint on the reflectors, or you'll completely ruin them.
