      Yea I think it depends on the area...in Colorado there are boulders flying around when it snows and anytime of the year; no amount of clear coat is going to save it . But clearcoat will give it that "not dull" appearance. Even if using semi-gloss paint after a bit that paint will fade and lose its sheen...clearcoat just seals it in.



      I had to redo mine because of some large rocks but it held up for about 8 months, and since mine is painted body color I elected to have it a little shinier to match the paint
      No more cb7, 7 years of ownership and 196K on the ticker before she was sold

      Current beast: 98 ej8 on 7psi with a 15g turbo and other goodies!

        all i did was take the grill off the car and painted 5 coats of Dupli-color bumper coating and 1 light coat of clear coat and look killer did it in 20 min and looks killer... and i just need to find a new H emblem that want on the grill when i bought the car...
