I'm starting to see 2 dime sized areas on my hood that look like the clear is starting to go. Really pisses me off. I pretty much know that my car has been repainted before, but I've always waxed it at least once a year if not more. And I always try to keep it washed. I also use the good Maguires clear coat safe soap. I think its called Gold Class.

Guess the repaint job must of been half ass because I don't understand why the clear coat would be failing.

Also, a few years ago a huge stack of boxes containing books fell on my hood and dented the crap out of it. The quote to fix it was like $2000 bucks! And my deductable was $500 so I didn't feel like shelling that kind of cash out.

Guess its time for a carbon fiber hood!!!

P.S. I'm very thankful I have a rust free cali car!

My grandma's cb7 has that rust on both rear quarter panels. Seems to be on a lot of cb7s. I heard you have to get the whole panel replaced for that.

I still have my original paint job save the front bumper (honda tech crashed it in the parking lot) but basically there are no visual defects anywhere on the car...not a spot of rust or anything but the roof does suffer from a tiny bit of rain spots...but I think all I have to do is invest in a good buffer and devote a weekend to getting them all out...I think the previous owners really didn't pay attention to the roof much ...

but yeah, always take good care of the car and try and wash and wax it at least once every 2 weeks...sometimes it gets to be a chore, but i devote at least 4 or 5 hours every other saturday to doing the wash/swirl remover/ polish/wax thing...definitely helps the paint looking new and give it that showroom mirror effect
