New front plate I made for my CB7

    A little back history...

For the CB7 meet earlier this year in Tennessee I made a front plate for my girl's '91 EX. It was a quick job but it served the purpose. Here's a pic of the old one... note the paint is in bad shape because we just threw one coat of black paint on it when we did it with no clear:

Here's the new one I made for my CB7. This one I have 3 coats of black and 2 coats of clear. Hopefully this one will fare better to the elements. If it doesn't I'll just get it powdercoated like I did the one I made for my old Camry. It's longer than a license plate and no where near as tall... but not wide enough to be considered "biting" German plates since it is a Japanese car:

For comparison... here are the two side by side:

Let me know what you think

Oh, I forgot to add I'm going to have a backing plate the same shape painted the same color as my car... so the plate is black and the letters will be the same red as my Accord.

I'm a cad programmer and I run a CNC laser machine. i just drew it up on a cad program and cut it out on the laser.

You should start producing these man. I'm sure there's plenty of people on this site what would love them. I know I would.

I wouldn't be able to produce them without the written consent of the owner of the site and probably a kickback to him (I know I would appreciate a kickback if I owned the site and someone was making money on my creation). Also, onesies and twosies are free to me as long as I am the one designing it in CAD and cutting it out on the laser. If I started to produce them I would have to pay for material.... in this case the backing plate I use is 1/8" steel and the front plate (the one with the letters out) is 14ga steel.
