Recall On Paint...

has anyone ever noticed that 90% of the dark blue honda accords are loosing their clear coat?? do you know if they ever did a recall on the car for "faulty clear coat"? just a thought.

Well it'll happen to any car if you don't take good care of the paint.

well yah, ya got to take care of it. but it seems that im not alone with the dark blue clear coat disapearing syndrome...

You know now that I think about it, it seems I do see that color on other cars with peeling clearcoat. But then again that theory can apply to the black CB7s too (esp. '90-'91s).

it just appears that way becuase its easier to see the peeling clear coat on darker cars......u cant see peeling clear coat to well on ....say a white car. on dark cars like blue and black u can see it much easier.its all on how u take care of it....garage it etc. and also were u live.

My metallic red 90 Accord [dead] was flaking around the antenna. I buffed the living hell outta it and it seemed to be under control.

I've definitly noticed that the blue accord's lose thier clear coat really fast especially on the hood.

yea back in 93 when my car was purchased (used) after a few months of buying it my parents noticed that happening and it was bad i tell ya around the hood and roof of the car it was horrible, well after complaints about the paint the dealer agreed to repaint the car the same color, came back in a lil better shape but not perfect but i'd take that over chipping clr anyday ha. later.

when i worked for honda, i was told that the cobalt blue accords had a recall on their paint. later.
