egged car=excuse for new paintjob

ok so after my car was egged and some paint came off i decided to get a new paintjob. i got a quote from a shop nearby for 3500. and this is with House of Color paint. going for silver with blue flakes then a very slight tough of red flakes. over 400 just for the paint. and they are going to put on a protective coat on the entire hood (to prevent rocks and such from scratching it. what do u all think...i will try and get the exact colors and pics of what it could look like up within a week or two. still need to see how i cn come up with the money haha

should have gone to get a professional detail rather than trying to take it off and get a new paint job.

sounds like you can't afford the paint job anyway, so you should go for the detail.

that sounds awesome, i wish someone would egg my car, i would go through insurance for it though and just pay the deductable

2. you'd really be hoping that the claim would go through
3. if the claim went through, you'd end up paying higher insurance premiums... the insurance company would end up recouping their money.

well i have alot of scratches and chipped paint. i mean if i can't get the money i may just have the honda shop paint it that new satin silver metalic color. probably only 1500 or so. for the entire car. we will c....if u knew me, any little scratch or chip makes me crazy lol

If you do decide to go with the 3500 dollar paint job ask how many coats of paint and clear are going to be applied to make sure your getting your moneys worth out of the expensive paint your going to buy. Some side job places will lay down one of each and primer and keep the rest of your paint to hit another car with.

but seriously, in the end, going through your insurance for this is not worth it. like aero said, it pretty much ends up being an extended loan.

i agree with el all the way though.. adding an expensive paint job will just make your rates go higher. thats how one of my buddies had his car fully shaved and molded. he had a 2002 accord and was rear ended very lightly and he got a claim of 3,000 so he had it done by the guy that did my car the first time.. his rates went up and he wished he just kept it stock instead.

just get it repaitned the stock color with your own money if you need too, or just clean it enough so it still looks good. you can get any effect out of any kind of paint if you really want.. house of kolor is just over priced with the same kind of pearls.

PPG, DuPont.. ect.. go with one of those if you want a nice paint job.
