to get an extra layer of clear coat or not?

im planning on getting my car painted at maaco and the guy told me if i really want the paint to last he reccomends i get an extra layer of clear coat sprayed on at the end and wants to charge me an extra 200 something bux to do it...what do you guys think? go for it or not? i am planning on keeping this car for some time now but am not looking to drop a grand on the appearance which is why im taking it to maaco

which ever u think is better because thats ur money ur tryna budget out of..but if they are sure they will do a great job then why not spend a few hundred dollars if its gonna last for a long time...but as i said go for what you think is better ! good luck man! lur cb ish lookin clean on dpics btw

thanks for the input guys...yea, a couple hundred bux really isnt that much if you look at it in the long run...i need to call maaco today and see if they can get me an apointment bc before they told me just to take it in and it would take 4 days

Word of wisdom. Do the prep your self. Mask EVERYTHING you don't want painted. I told a friend Maaco could do a decent paint job for a couple of hundred but you have to mask everything yourself becuase they don't do shit. My friend didn't listen to me. The end redult was there was tons of overspray on the wheel wells, exhaust and places you don't want paint. But at least his car looked better.

if its a poly-enamel job then the integrated clear will be enough if he is doin that. mines fine!

didnt end up getting the second layer...funny thing is the guy working there talked me out of it, hahah...anyways im going to pick it up at the end of this week, i hope it turned out good it was AWFUL before
