    Weatherstripping, molding, etc...

You know, the rubber stuff that goes around the doors and windows. Mine is completely shot, and I've heard a few CB7 owners say theirs is too. How do you replace it?

Has anyone done it before, or had it done? I want to find the proper stuff and either do it myself, or have a professional do it (depending on difficulty). I'm tired of hearing so much wind noise when I'm driving around. I also hate having a little rubber strip flopping around when I open my door!

If anyone doesn't know what I mean, I'll try to get pics. I really want to fix this though!

Are you talking about the window run channel rubber or the rubber seal that goes completely around the door?

Damn Busted! You're hitting every thread I made! You rock!

Actually, I'm looking to replace both. The rubber around the window is buckling, and looking pretty nasty.
The rubber around the door is peeling right off, and I have 6" of floppy, useless rubber blowing in the wind when I open my door.

Well the window run channels are very important because when they go out and start coming out of the door the window falls off track and messes everything else up.

For those you need to remove the window in order to change them but it's allot easier then it sounds. It's just time consuming.

The other rubbers I've never changed but plan to after I have my body work done. I just haven't done it yet because I imagine they are expensive.

I think I saw the door rubber on www.1aauto.com. I believe it was fairly cheap. I don't know where to find the window rubber though.

As far as taking the window out, that's easy (I hate taking the stupid door panel off, but it's not hard). I did that when I replaced my window regulators and my front speakers. I did however break the little plastic piece on my passenger side door handle... The one that holds the handle to the rod that opens the latch...

well my flap on the top of the door is there to but some idiot friend pulled it off i dont know who

but i went to the honda dealer and the quoted me 40 bucks for the weather stripping for the flap the rubber for the window trail i forgot to ask i need that replaced to cuz near the mirror it bunches up and it looks disgusting and yes the wind is annoying when i drive

and then when i park my car i see a gap in between the window and the rubber i am scared that some one can easily put a hanger and pop the locks wit the gap its like prolly this long

              ------------

^ that long maybe a little more but its scary

Thanks to someone on HHU, I found (again) www.hondaautomotiveparts.com. They have the weatherstripping, moldings, and everything... right down to the washers and grommets! The site is pretty confusing though, so I'll need to get a good look at my car to see exactly what I need. It seems like the weatherstripping pieces ranged from $40-$65 or so, if I was looking at the right stuff. Supposedly, they offer the best prices possible.

Hate to bring back an old thread but I did search and I found this. I removed my door panel and the white weatherstripping is covering the door. It's pasted onto the door. I need to remove it to access the power lock connections because the power lock dont work on my passenger side door. They work on all other doors except this one. I know the lock is getting power and trying to move up, so I'm guessing there's a problem with the rod. How do i remove this weatherstripping without ripping it so I can re-use it? Or do i just have to rip it out and buy it new?

What here is the weatherstripping? The pic is kinda confusing.

I think you are talking about the white plastic on the inside of the door panel that is glued to the door, right? I don't think that is the weatherstripping but from the pic it looks like that is number 13 & 17. Majestic Honda calls it the seal and it is about $13. You will probably have to buy a new one, unless you can salvage the old one, but you will most likely need the glue too since that stuff doesn't seem to re-stick too well. But the actual weatherstripping is 12 & 16, it actually goes around the window.
PM me if you found this!!

Thanks. I did mean the seal. What kind of glue do I have to use? Sucks that I have to re-do this because of one bad door lock.

The soft rubber around the window and door are what I was originally asking about. The plastic sheet on the inside of the door really doesn't do much... that comes off and stays off

I thought #13 & 17 were important since they are the vapor barriers. (I think that was a VW term).

That is, if water/moisture gets in, it won't affect electrical components in the door..if its rain it would then run off the vinyl/plastic cover and down to the bottom of the door where drain holes are located.
