    window tinting

I was thinking about getting my windows tinted, and i was thinking about doing it myself. Ive seen accords with like dark purple tint with a bunch of bubbles in it, and it looks really bad. Should i just get it done professionally, and how much would it cost?

not exactly....a credit card will scratch the fuck out of your tint. if you do use a c/c wrap it in a damp cloth, just go to walmart or autozne and buy the tint kit, it comes with razor blades and tint squeegie. and also use johnson&johnson baby wash 50/50 mix with water, thats what the profesionals use, and it works wonders. just make sure u get a lot of blades becuase they dull quick, the tint comes with directions....just read them. i took my front windows right out into my house to do mine......just 2 10mm screws per window. and do it in the shade if you do it outside, on a non windy day, and cant be dusty at all. you will see every little imperfection if your window is not perfectly clean, razor blade the window than windex it inside and out. good luck. if you think its to hard get it done by a pro....but it is hella easy.

Get it done professionally, you will not regret that. Also look for installers that use Llumar or Sun Gard, those are two high quality films that incorporate metallic technologies to avoid purpling for a long long time.

And don't use cleaning agents that contain Ammonia on your windows, those will speed up purpling.

I would have to agree as well. Madico is another respectable brand. I've had 4 cars done with them and absolutely no fading, peeling, bubbling what so ever. All their films are metallic where as Llumar sells low end dyed stuff too so make sure you get the metallic stuff if you go with Llumar. Good quality tint comes with good adheasives as well so you don't get any bubbling (as long as it's installed properly) and is usually backed with a lifetime warranty. If you want to try doing it yourself, stick to the side windows only and get the rear done professionally. The rear is not easy to work on especially on the Accords with a big curve on the sides and there's also a high risk of damaging the defroster lines if you ever decide to remove it. The pros use a heat gun to make the tint form to the shape of the glass before installing it.

Paid to have mine done. 180 for 5 percent on all 5 windows. It keeps my car really cool during the summer.

When I am on roadtrips in my Honda, it can be a 90 degree day, and I will have the AC blowing on the notch above off for fan speed. I think all my future cars will have tint.

Here's a pic of how dark it is. In the middle of the day you still can't see in.

edit: Here's another where you can just barely see into the car from the front window. My friends tell me sometimes its hard to tell if someone is even sitting in the car.

It's really easy if you pull your windows out. Also I agree don't even try to do your rear window take it somewhere for that one.

I had it done by a local guy here in Chicago.

It's been a year now and I have only been pulled on it twice. The first officer that stopped me is a buddy of mine and didnt realize it was me so I got let go. The second time was a state trooper and I was for SURE I was going to get a ticket, but he let me off with a warning.

I have had cops stare at me as I drove by, but they never turned on me. Other then the window tint, my car is visually stock and performance wise stock. So it doesn't really attract that much attention.

id suggest getting it done professionaly, becaues then you get the warranty and its done right. No bubbles, scratches, dirt and so on.

                            No

Why don't you just practice tinting on them then go and do your 92's windows after you have learned to tint on your old 90 windows

Always get your tint done professionally!

Doing it yourself (especially 1st time) will most likely result in a disaster. I paid $170 for my 2 door (32% legal in GA) and it is flawless.

                              generic short-ram
                              generic strut tower bar
                              hid bulbs all around
amber bumper + clear corners (soon to be amber)
