    Price to shave Motorized Antenna?

Anyone that had this done, can you
please tell me how much approx. does it go for?
I'm thinking of getting this done since i just
put a Volkswagen Antenna on mine.
-Is there anyway i can patch up/paint the antenna hole myself?
Or best bet is to get it proff. done?

thanks in advance for all the inputs....

hmm i dunno how to shave it maybe bondo? in the meantime, you can just take out the antenna by unscrewing the metal brace on the outside of the antenna, and then cover it with a rubber cap or some tape.

i had mine done quite awhile ago, and unless u got crazy skills, have it done.. take it out/cut and weld a piece of metal to fit .. etc, i paid like 400 for that, and my trunk to be shaved- back in the day

if you cant weld find a friend that can weld it in from the bottom side or if hes good do the perfect circle then fill it in with kitty hair and duraglass (or bondo)

shavings not that hard just as long as you take the time and do it right so it wont crack later on. Ive shaved everything on my car myself trunk antenna doorhandles bodylines exc...

yea i vote do it yourself...i did it my self before i painted my car and it turned out really nice...i didnt do any welding and it hasnt cracked or nothing yet. All i did was take the antenna out, then cut a small piece of metal out. I then put the small piece of metal on hte inside of the hole ( so like putting it in the trunk). I then slapped some bondo on the outside and sanded till it was perfectly flush...it isnt that hard at alll but will save u like u said 400 bucks.

take a small metal patch place it in the hole from the bottom get someone to hold it from the bottom side and just tack it in 2 corners from the top then grind down the welds fill with bond and work it.........DIY best way to go and i know im bout to get bashed for saying that but oh well just my 2 cents oh yea sorry for the dirty car pic

-I just went to a junk yard, and i pried off the base of the antenna
from the Volkswagen donor car. The base was attached
with the antenna wire, but i clipped that off.

-Now i want to get a price on getting the stock antenna shaved.

-I did the same thing ShadetreeCustom did, i ran it down the
inside of the rear left fender. I get good reception. But i dont care,
i dont even use the radio.......iPod OWNZ ALL!

But i've always like the VW antenna for some reason.
Now that its on the car it gives it more of a classy look.
It also makes the car lower for some reason,
                            but maybe thats just me.
