Turtle wax headlight lens restorer

My gf's headlights were really horrible so I decided to try and clean them up. I'm currently replacing her bumper and lights so might as well get to cleaning while bumper is being painted. Here is a before, during and after picture. The before is only of the driver side headlight I forgot to take a picture of the passenger. This is a 96 accord.

I ended up doing it twice on each lens. Idk if they will work on glass.
Overall it did a great job I was more than glad from the results and it all costed $10.

Looks much better

I used the 3M kit on my JDM headlights. It made a world of difference.

Glass headlights don't get that bad. Just the plastic ones.

Looks good. You could prob wet sand them a little more. I can still see some clear on them. The first time I did a set I was afraid to go too far. The next time I went further and they look great.

Glass headlights get chips from the rocks and you can't do anything but replace them.

I did this all by hand. It is tiring but I think you could use a polish wheel if you wanted I bet they will come out a lot better

If you want to polish glass you should get some glass polish rather than plastic polish (which is what the product that the OP posted is). TypeG might be able to help you out with that one.

For plastic head lights we sell a product called Fast Brite at work, it's an as seen on tv product.
Fixed a friends pontiac gram am with it, took about 30 seconds per headlight. No real rubbing or buffing and certainly no sanding. Went from nasty milky yellow to clear. It was pretty shocking actually.

It's a little more difficult but you can get a decent result too using windex glass cleaner, cheap toothpaste and a rag too. Just have to keep spraying the windex while rubbing in the toothpaste.

I have a glass polishing kit for windshields (from Eastwood) that would work with glass headlights (works well on plastic as well - did my daughter's Civic lights).

Tried and proven on my 2002 Lexus IS300. I was iffy at first, but it truly worked! The problem with most lens restorers nowadays is the problem of buffing out or wetsanding plastic headlights before applying a plastic restorer solution. If you were to keep wearing your plastic lenses down everytime it gets yellow or foggy, you'd break those 1/8"-thick plastics down to even less. Then, God forbid, a tiny road pebble hits your lights at 65-70 mph, bye-bye headlights forever.

Give it a try. What have you got to lose? $5 on furniture polish? If you feel that it wont work, at lesst youll have something to clean the furniture with around the house...
