Testing Waters on interest in quarter panel patch panels

Getting the inner quarter is key. My body shop had to fab up a set of custom inner panels to repair my damage. I can't be certain how well they sealed up the gap between the inner and outer seam, but I coated it in oil shortly after I got it home from the shop to try and prevent any junk from getting into the seam.

Are you drilling out each spot weld when you're pulling the panel?

At the yard, I cut mine out with a sawzall beyond the spot welded seams to expedite removal; cutting the spot welds can be done at home. Reference the thread below for where I cut the quarters for my sedan.

I don't drill the spot welds, I use a spot weld cutter (like an end mill) that allows you to cut just through one thickness of metal and leave one side of the flange essentially intact.

My panels were drilled out, so I was curious how yours would be done.

i would be very interested my drivers side is GONE...... pass side i can get away with the ebay quarter b/c it's not too badd but my drivers goes down the kick panel can only see when the door is open. : (

I know this was still near the top, but bumping anyway to reassert that I am willing to cut quarters and bring them back north. If you really care about your car - you'll fix your rust!

I think mine may need some help...people before me ran two wood screws in my passager side rear bumper why ... well I found from the history report my car spent some time in Idaho and we'll the metal that holds the clips is gone. Nothing more or less the normal spots but yeah I had to get creative at hiding a screw to hold it up not to mess with the appearance (except for the two holes left there) other than my wreck this car has gone through the ringer but gets me from point a to b and back (mostly without a problem)

Okay, you guys missed out on this trip. There are a few rust free sedans and one coupe in the Birmingham, AL Pull A Part; didn't manage to get to Montgomery early enough. I might check that out on the way home on Thursday. I'll be back down here in two weeks.
