    fixing bumper

So i chenged my bumper yesterday and those screws on the top that hold the bumper coer to the actual bumper were being eaten up by my screwdriver. There was no way to get them out other than to break them off. Now there is a gap as you can see. Does anyone know what i can do to fix this? Cheaply if possible?

If you can see in this pic its the black dots on the top of the bumper

Loosen the but behind your headlights and the two behind your bumper lights then lift it up and tighten the bolts behind the bumper lights...keep re adjusting then lastly tighten the ones behind the headlights

i tried that just now and it made no diffrence. The bumper COVER is the problem. Im thinking im just going to get some fluch head bolts and nuts and do it that way to replace the plastic screws

When I put my dx bumpers on I didn't remove the cover I kept the bumper support attached...that's the easiest way to do it....

What they are both trying to say is that the proper way to replace the bumper cover is to remove the whole bumper assembly (cover, beam, brackets) from the car (only takes about 5 minutes once you know how), then remove the plastic retainers that hold the cover to the top of the beam. Remove the two bolts on both sides behind the bumper lights, the two nuts underthe headlights in engine compartment, and the four screws at the fender opening, then slide the whole assembly forward. You should be able to find generic plastic clip replacements at an auto parts store. You will need 11 if you trashed all of them.

I forgot to mention a couple plastic clips on the underside of the bumper as well. One screw on either side where the fender liner attaches at the bottom as well.
