Maybe the stuff you used wasn't that great, but the stuff i use from the detail shop at the dealership works great. The name and brand escapes me right now, but its a chemical mixture that literally eats the calcium deposits and other residue left by hard water.
The water spots on my windows were terrible. 20+yrs of build up. I used a chemical water spot remover and steel wool. This method and a little time and patience got rid of the spots on all my windows. Pics are in MRT. edit:http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showpost...3&postcount=98
It requires that you let the water spot remover sit for a while so the chemicals can work their magic, then it takes a bit of elbow grease to really scrub away the tough spots. After about 2hours of waiting and scrubbing and my windows look brand new again. Crystal clear.
I'm sure compounds and buffers work just as well, but i think i've shown that chemical applications do too. So don't shoot down the idea of chemical treatments. Some might just be better than others.Last edited by islandhopper; 06-10-2012, 06:06 PM.
