    How to sand door jambs

What tool(s) do you use to sand the door jambs when doing a complete color change? I just have an orbital sander but it looks like i wont be able to sand the door jambs with it.
Also what about the hood webbing? how do you sand that?
    Any advice greatly appreciated.

That was my plan too - to just hand sand them. But what about body shops? I'm sure they don't do it by hand, there has to be a more efficient way to do it...

seeing as those spots are not seen very often you could just sand enough of the clear off to get good adhesion with the new paint...

True. That's what I am planning on doing - just roughening the clear enough for the new paint to stick. That will still take some time doing it by hand...

The one part I am really confused about is the hood webbing... Sanding that by hand is going to be a pain! That's why I was asking; I was hoping there is some type of a sanding disk that is flexible enough for that type of work.

You will have to remove the doors... since you will be painting the inside of the doors and door jambs. If you are not doing any rust repair or bodywork,.. you can just scuff it with a with a scotchbrite pads or some scuff pad that equal to it. It is not that bad if you scuff it with soap and water.

dont they make an attachment for drills that is flexible somewhat? and you can attach the circular hook and loop sanding disks to? could have sworn i seen that before. check home depot...u could probably use that to an extent then do by hand for the places you couldnt hit...

it honestly wont take that long to just rough it up by hand, maybe 15-20 minutes per door jam and probably 45 to an hour for the underside of the hood. hit it with a decently rough paper to really get in there, then a finer one to knock the burrs down and you should be fine.

if you really dont want to use your hands, you can always have the car acid-dipped, but thats probably just a tiny bit of overkill for what you're wanting to do
