    ^^ To add...

Make sure you don't stop at the edge of the piece you are painting with if
you do the start and stop method. Always keep spraying about 2-4 inches
after and before the panel and it ensure you got the whole thing.

yeah admittedly it was windy and the spray nozel wasnt one that gave a wide spray it had a nozel more like a fly spray can and yes it is fabric i was merely showing as an example of what can happen..metal is different to work with but can end us equally as bad if not worse...iv seen some cars fully painted using spray cans and damn it was shit.

when you are spraying always try to start spraying off the surface and finish off the surface.

OH YEAH and make sure that you do not wear after shave or or any thing like that(you can wear under arm deodorant) as it can pit the paint kind of like what wax does to water also spraying in a calm area is best..if inside then make sure its well ventilated.

speaking from experience and knowledge iv acquired over 17 or so years

The key with bombing, is to buy quality cans that raddle. they normally have a better pressure and fan tip. They also go twice as far as the cheap stuff. When it says to stay 6-12 inches away from the object your spraying, listen to it, even if you think your wasting paint, theirs a reason for instructions, Also don't do it in a windy area or you will be wasting your paint.

You can get a bumper fixed and re-sprayed along with a fender for around $300 at a professional shop BTW.
Do be hesitant to get to know your local shops, most the time they are willing to help you however they can, They just can't do work for free all the time is all.

^ Excellent point on the nozzles. The fan tip nozzles found on the better paints, like VHT, Duplicolor etc, give you a much better coverage and less likely to zebra stripe and get splatters.

I enjoy painting so much it's a wonder I never went into doing it professionally.

spray can will work fine as long as you prep it right. after putting down the color you will need to seal it with some type of clear coat. when that all finished a little wet sand and buff and you wont ever know it came out of a rattle can. some paint stores will even put good base and or clear in a spray can for you for like 5 extra bux. I do that from time to time at work for small touch up jobs.
