well you can wet sand the entire clear cout and the entire panel.clear with something like 1000 grit.once clear is gone.wet sand entire panel with 2000 grit and get dupli-color clear paint. sand paper and paint you can buy from local auto store.dry the car and tape off everything else and spray a light cout of the clear you got and let dry.read the instructions on the can.it drys in like 15 to 30 min.then wet sand with 2000 grit.dry.and repeat 2, 3 more times.up to you.the final cout needs to be heavy.laydown three couts of clear.let dry and wet sand till smooth.well thats what i did.lol

Your clear no longer have adhesion on it... the sun burn it off or sometime the clear cloat just did not have enough UV protection and Adhesion to begin with.

You will need to repaint the whole trunk... If you only sand the flaking clear off the trunk. The trunk surface wont be evenly level for when you spray the clear coates on.. it will look like you have dents on the trunk.

What do I mean by repaint ?!!... you basically need to redo all the work. Make sure you sand down all the clear out ... It's okay that you might sometime accidently sand down or went under the base coat and primer ...it's ok because you'll need to re-primer it, block it down by hand so the trunk surface is evenly level, then put 3-4 coats of base and at last apply your clear cloats.
