i figured tat i would use that spot , imean what do i ever put in there ( stuff just kept falling out when i had the empty compartment..)

also Its cheaper than guage piller pod.. and if you wanted to add more guages you always have more room pod/under cd deck...and i would not want to leave my glove box open all the time..

BTW: i can read them just fine... they would be better above the radio thow..

      the supplys i used where:
an old compartment box that came with your stock radio
i cut that up in sections (3 of them) and i cut the back off with a high speed dremel tool..

then i cut a sqare peice of my wife's binder and painted that 3 coats with some left over red staind glass paint.. when it dryed it was like candy... mmmm..

then i screwed the guages in and fasend the face plate to the old compartment box.... the sensor wireing went out the back came together quite nicely. and i wired my backlights to the cigerette trey light..

looks pretty good , but its non funtional at the moment...
