i just ordered my samples. ima see how this stuff looks.

konig52r: i might order from them on my next check. $68 shipped for 2 yards of that stuff sounds good. i saw this on H-T but the site that they used it was like $200-$300 just for a section for your roof. ugh...

I also got my sample in the mail the other day, I talked to Cameron from Interior designs and he informed that you can clear coat the vinyl for exterior application he suggested a urethane coating of some sort. He also said that you would want to purchase primer 94 from www.hillas.com for the corners so it wouldnt peel up and ruin the finish. All in all it seems like a great product but Im not sure how it would look with a whole roof done with it, it seems to look best when used on smaller pieces IMO.

Received my ca-421 carbon fiber sample..

Looks excellent..doesn't have the kevlar refraction that real carbon fiber does(brownish color as angle of view is changed..but none the less could fool anyone..

Feels very strong for vinyl...will be ordering some of this stuff soon..

Gonna wrap the gas door of the ep3 with it..give it a few washes./heat abuse/sun etc..and see were I'm at..

Do you think 2yards is enough for the roof?
Let me know how it is if you order it. Take pics

I just went and measured my roof (sedan) to see how much you would need. It's storming here so this is just a rough measurement. It was around 5 feet from front to back in the center of the roof (longest point) and somewhere around 3 feet 3 inches across. Like I said those measurements were done really quick so it's not exact but 2 square yards would leave you more than likely enough to do some of the interior pieces too. I measured the width on top from the inside edges of the rain grooves so if you're wanting to do the entire top it would be a little bit wider than what I said earlier but you would still have more than enough. Hope this helps.

Thanks bro! See now 70 shipped sounds way better than what 3m is chraging. And like i said, both look the same.

No problem. Yeah it doesn't look bad at all. Plus if you plan on clearing it it will look pretty much the same anyways. I think if I get any of it i'm gonna leave it the way it is though.

not me. sorry. lmao. too light. and doing it with just the overlay sheet would be pointless because your not making any weight savings.

but more power to whoever does it. will look different.

I would do it if I had a smaller car like a rex or a hatch but to do the whole cb would be a good bit of money. I wonder how this stuff looks once it has sat in the sun for a long period of time. I know real CF fades and needs to be sanded and recleared after so long. I wonder how this stuff holds up though. Does anyone think the glue on it would hold up to the extreme amount of heat our cars through. Like would it eventualy start to sag if you did your doors and fenders?

Well I got my samples today. I got five different colors of the carbon tos ee which one looked the best. The dark grey, white, and black look the best to me. The other two could look I guess but you would have to have the right color scheme to make them look right. This stuff is alot thinner than I expected. I thought it might be hard to work with at first but now that I have it in my hands it seems like it would be pretty easy to work around corners and everything with. Anyways, just my two cents.

I just got a call from Cameron from dinocfilm.com asking about how I liked my samples and everything. I told him I saw it on here and he wrote down the address and is going to come check out the site. Maybe we can get a discount lol. He seemed to be a cool ass guy so if anyone needs anything, ask for him.
