Since I bought the coupe, I've hated the hood. It's been repainted, but not cleared, wax was left on it at one time, it greys out after a week or so, no matter what I do. I've worked on the hood so many times I've rubbed through to the original rosewood in spots. The only things that make it look halfway decent are WD-40 and Hot Shine. These pics are after a wash, wipe down with Hot Shine and left to sit for fifteen minutes until dry, buffed with a cotton towel, waxed with two different liquid waxes and a paste.
As much as I dislike a flat black hood just for the sake of having it, I was considering spraying mine. It would definitely look better than it does now. However.. 8-)
I have a can of satin finish charcoal tint spray in the garage. (I was going to use it to tint the lights, but didn't like a satin finish on them. Would look sweet on a murdered out ride though) I test sprayed an extra rear trim garnish I have laying around, and it's kind of funky. Looks satin black in the shade and at night, but in the sun the color shows through, but it's still obviously a much darker hood.
Any thoughts?
