the grill should fit fine. but it will look wrong. to make it look right u need the 90-91 front bumper, headlights to make it match. the 92-93 grill, headlights are at a slightly differant angle than the 90-91. so the 91 grill will not fit propery. i suggest just get a 92-93 grill. although the 90-91 look a lot better imo. i have the diy grill and its badass. good luck.

              It'll work but...

You will have to tweak it a little for it to sit flush. I have a jdm 89 grill on my car (same as 90-91) and it fits just fine. If you look closely you can see that the curves on my 92 jdm lamps don't really line up near where it meets the grill but I still like it.

It's barely noticeable like the gap thats between the headlamps and hood originally if you don't have the optional JDM chrome lining to begin with anyways.
I need a custom turbo manifold built....

on top of being a different shape, there is a difference in length/depth of the grills. the pic should explain it all.

i have 92-93 JDM headlights and a 90-91 grill. the outer two mounting screws were unused due to the unmatching shape of the grill to the headlight. the slit where the grill fits into the headlight housing is not even close to fitting either.

so there IS a difference in the 92 ^ head lights than the 90-91. cus i think i might have one light from a 92 and one from a 91. one of my lights sits further back behind my grill/hood and bumper, and the other sits flush with the hood and the bumper.

no, you probably have them installed incorrectly.
remember, the difference between the 90/91 and the 92/93 is the presence or absence of chrome trim (please refer to the jdm headlight faq in my signature for further details). i'd like to think that difference would have been obvious from the jump.

the jdm headlights don't work with usdm grills as well because of the difference of the front bumpers. the jdm front bumpers are a bit smaller/thinner up front than the usdm counterparts (most feel that this difference is due to the lack of crash regulations/safety in japan at the time). thus, it is my belief that the headlights sit a bit further back in the usdm bumper than the usdm headlights do. as such, the usdm grill sits a bit differently in relation to the headlights.
add to that, the jdm headlights are a bit smaller than the usdm headlights.

my g square grill fits much better with my jdm headlights than the usdm grill did.
