Paint Bottom Skirts + lip ?

So my car will be getting painted light metallic silver in the next few weeks (over from seattle silver) i have decided i will be matching the door trims from black to silver and the bumper trim... .

the question is ,... what about the bottom skirts. I live in winnipeg and there is alot of harsh road conditions here, i'm wondering if i have the bottom skirts painted is it likely to just start flaking off in no time and look like shit? should i avoid painting the bottom lip and skirts? ....

we have tonnes of hard snow, not to mention i drive this car for work so i occasionally end up on a gravel road from time to time.

Depends on if they're going to do a good job painting them and use good paint/primer. Probly better off not doing it though.

It shouldn't flake off but it would be missing something. When it's all the same color it looks a little boring. I would paint it all one color but then paint the skirts and lips black just as I did. I'm satisfied with the results.

you could get chip guard sprayed on it over base then clear it and if they are good that should hold up but me personally i wouldnt paint em or the mouldings

I'd leave 'em black. That way you can swith around lips easily!

It also just looks a bit better, it's not all bad leaving the moldings black either... but I could never decide what I'd do about those if I was painting my car.

If you're the "set it n' forget it" type, leave it black. I personally want it painted coz it makes the car look beefier coz the painted skirts adds height "visually" from top to bottom. And I don't mind doing touch-ups from time to time.

i say leave them black and shave the mouldings....

if your low enough you can get a skyline look from the right angle at the front.
