you all can argue all you want about "rice vs. jdm" (btw, i hate both of those terms), but i can say something that is an unquestionable fact......OEM will never go out of style, NEVER

personally i try to go for the OEM stylings with a blend of some j-spec flavor (OEM of japan). you cant deny that OEM products are not quality, something that i think (some) aftermarket parts lack

and yes, i do tend to purchase aftermarket parts primarily because of the price, but i still stand behind the "honda" parts under any circumstance

(i apologize for dragging this on)

I was reading the new HCI magazine, and they had a article on a yellow WRX thats somewhere in nyc area. Anyway the guy that typed the article says that he hates the term "JDM", so after that he replaced the term as "SICK", so know i guess the new term now is "SICK" not "JDM". what do u poeple think? I love the tem but yes it is getting played out.

hold up we are not al ricers. the poeple that are ricers are the ones that go to auotzone and buy that stupid washers nozzle led lights, those stupid as stickers: that you find there. the ones that fly past you on the street with a stupid apc sticker, bolt on muffler and *** ass altezza taillights that have been played out for the past 2 yrs. thats my opinion

There's no true definition of a real Ricer

Guess that makes me a ricer then!

Gotta realize that not everyone has the money to buy expensive parts to dress up their car or if there is any aftermarket parts at all to dress their car to begin with. The only option to this is to buy "cheap" or anything custom you can to "set yourself apart"

I used to have Carbon Altezza lamps on my car and till this day I can't believe I spent about $230 bucks for them on e-bay! This was my 2nd mod I did to my car way back in highshool. I was happy to be the only cb owner in my local town with them for awhile....

Besides bodykits, there wasn't really any aftermarket dress up support back then for CB's. Heck I still love my G2 carbon fiber altezzas and I personally think they look the best compared to the G3,G4 versions that are out now....

I used to have a Strada front end (SFII clone) ready to be put on but I seen so many people with fiberglass kits break them. I changed my mind and sold it and what happened to the guy I sold it to? he broke it going down a driveway. I chose to go Honda JDM because it's semi different and has oem quality. (nothing beats factory abs plastic)

Aftermarket companies love providing support for CD accords and I do believe it's still the most popular Accord tuner chassis in the scene opposed to 6th and 7th gens as well. It more or less looks like a bigger Honda civic because it's rounded like one.

I still actually have my L.E.D. nozzle lamps on my hood.....they aren't connected but I like the way they look. They are chrome and much bigger than the little plastic oem pieces and accent my wheels and other chrome trim on my car. I'm plannin on painting them gunmetal but never took the time to buy paint yet. Yeah i'm a "ricer"

There's nothing wrong with buying stickers exp. "FEAR THIS" "PRINCESS" "APC" etc., Bodykits: "BOMEX" "buddyclub" etc. Lights: Projectors, Angeleyes etc.

If you want to see true "rice"...heheh you guys should visit japan once. They have bodykits for any vehicle you can think of! They have bodykits for even mini warehouse trucks that give it ferarri side vents and corvette tailamps! If you look at JDM vehicles that usually rock the covers on most tuner magazines....how many have you seen that isn't kitted out already? I bet nobody looked at those cars and considered them as rice because they have the power to back it's mean looks.

Whether you have a 125hp Accord that is kitted and lit up to the max with neons....or if you have a 400hp Turbo G23 Accord sleeper decorated with shopping cart dents....what you do to your car reflects your personality. Who cares what other people think about your ride! Do whatever you can to your car and whatever is in your budget to customize it to your needs.
I don't think it's good to categorize anyone as a "ricer"
I've been thru all the stages I guess...bodykits,flashy lights, and jdm. I think the true definition of a ricer is a "Any person that changes a part of a car that is not standard factory equipment" Guess we are all ricers
Your not in this game to please anyone but yourself.
I need a custom turbo manifold built....

wow... very well said. and youre completely right. just take the current fad for example. check out any drifter car spread over a mag cover, im gonna bet just about every single one is sporting a widebody kit... so are bodykits still rice?

my personal preference is power before looks, but just cause i think that way, it doesnt make the opposite rice. its almost like talking shit about "ricers" has become the cool thing to do. cant we all just get along... this is an accord forum, not a jdm only forum. nobody is right or wrong, its all opinion. but like mommy used to tell me. if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all.
