    valve cover opinions please

im doign my H22 cover Candy Blue from TRGCoatings.com.

im wondering if i should do the manifold the same color or go with Shiney Silver.

fuel rail might be done in candy blue also, but ill prolly just get an aftermarket one.

1st pic is manifold and cover same.
2nd is not exact pic, but you get the idea.

i personally don't recomend getting an intake that poweder coat has gotten up inside like that.. it's asking for trouble.

the only thing i dont want attention taken away from the valve cover and im not sure if a blue intake will do that or not.

my 2 cents is that you should just paint the V/C ....and just clean up the intake

              are you retarded or something?

paint eventually chips off, especially with heat and oil.

you want that going into your combustion chamber?

ive got the jdm swap and its super clean, but its not shiney how i like, lol.

i did take some of my Eagle One "Never Dull" and cleaned it up a bit and it made a difference, but its not hwat i want.

I DO NOT PAINT STUFF!!!!!! im tired of all my friends and people on line that are too cheap to get shit coated. paint chipps and doesnt last......even the good paint. i know. ive tried it. ive tried them all. coating last much longer and looks so much better. ive built 10 motors off the top of my head and painted about every piece. one of my friends coats little shit for me.

this is why i never ask. i almost didnt post it. alls i usually hear is "just paint it"
heres my old single cam......everything painted with engine paint, and after a while it started comming off. the valve cover was the only thing coated. "Chrome Smoke"

the intake can be masked off so that powder can't get inside it. they have heat resitant tape for just such a thing.

well, if i were going to just clean the intake up, i'd take steel wool to it. if you don't like the way it looks, then powder coat it. later.

I would do the intake manifold silver, it'll give more contrast and look better and more oem imo. Just make sure they tape it off so no powdercoat gets inside it.

I agree with you too, powdercoat, while it can chip off like paint also, is far far less likely to do so, and is much more durable.
