    Door locks

Sup guys. Just got a quick question. My door locks are buggin out. Everytime i lock the car, by key or by alarm remote, and even when i step in the car after turning it on, the alarm automatically locks the doors once the door is closed after a start up.

The locks keep trying to "'lock" themselves after its already been locked. In other words, after the doors lock, it keeps making a clicking sound like if the locks keep trying to engage (for lack of better words) . this lasts from a couple of seconds to even a minute or so, which in this case is a long time.

Not sure if this is an alarm problem or what, but i'm kinda leaning towards alarm since it overrides the locks and the alarm system itself has been giving me problems since i got the car. Any body have any clues to what it might be?

Its possible the relay that controls that part might be starting to malfunction...I've heard of someone else having this problem before. Mine does the opposite, sometimes it doesn't lock the doors after start up...most times it does.

It's not an alarm problem, because my car does it too, and I don't have an alarm. I think it is caused by a problem in the drivers side front door actuator, but I'm not positive about it.

I bought my car about a year ago, and it was doing that a LOT, sometimes even in the middle of the night it would randomly start doing it. I have a neighbor whom goes outside to smoke, and stands pretty close to where my car is parked, and he asked me about the clicking sound that my car was making in the middle of the night.

I'm not sure why, but over the course of the last couple of months, I haven't noticed it happening much. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the colder weather, or if things were just dirty, and now that I've been using it a lot, it's working better.

I also had a problem with the "all doors unlock" feature. I would often have to turn the drivers side door lock many times to get the rest of the doors to unlock. Now, they all unlock every time, I just have to hold the key in the unlock position for a second or so. It might be related.

I doubt it is the alarm, replace the drivers door lock actuator.
To rule out the alarm, unplug the connector to drivers lock in the door panel. If the problem stops it was the lock. If it keeps doing it, disconnect the alarm from the locks and see what happens.

X2 on the driver side lock actuator.

Mine did the EXACT same thing. It would not stop locking itself. Replaced the actuator and problem gone!
