Tail Light Conversion

Question for you guys......

I just purchased myself a pair of new stock tail lights for my ride.
They're the ones that go from Red/Clear/Red. When the lights are
on, only the bottom light red one comes on.

I would like to wire up another light, and perhaps drill a whole to get a bulb in the top red portion. Is there a DIY for this?
Has anyone else done this? Also, if I did add a bulb to the top portion, would it reflect the light well?
Or would it just look like a round light inside the housing ?

I drilled a hole and purchased some corner connectors and put them in... 194 bulb

On the LED conversion one the bulbs he used are inferior to the 63 LED ones on Ebay. Iv had them before there dim as all hell.
